The retired NBA broadcasting legend, Marv Albert, is still remembered for his significant contributions to the field.
Commonly referred to as “the voice of basketball,” the 81-year-old is a 2015 inductee of the basketball broadcasting Hall of Fame. His works covered both college and professional basketball in his lifetime.
Given aside his glorious nickname, Albert was also called “the voice of the New York Knicks” from 1967 to 2004. His presence in the industry made a noticeable difference among the teams and players back then.
Interestingly, the legendary Albert also worked outside basketball and garnered a name from his work in sports like baseball, ice hockey, and football.
The NBA media-mogul was indeed a man of extensive sports knowledge and knew what to speak to keep the players and audience keep going while in a game.
Hence, it explains his various awards, with him included in the WAER Hall of Fame in 2017, before his retirement.

Marv Albert Is Married To Second Wife Heather Faulkiner
The sports broadcasting icon Marv Albert was married twice in his life and is currently together with his second wife, Heather Faulkiner.
Ms. Faulkiner is widely known as a celebrity spouse and has not contributed to her fame so far.
However, she has showcased that she is a fantastic and supportive wife since she is seen accompanying Albert at his high-level events and parties.
With his growing age, his wife has become a partner for his growing times to date though they have a significant age difference.
The sportscaster was 54 while his then-fiancee Heather was 39 years old in September 1998 when APNews reported their alleged marriage date.
Despite sharing many differences, the two have not grown apart all these years and continue to stay together.
The couple’s most notable last appearance was at the 2016 ESPYS at Microsoft Theater on July 13, 2016, in Los Angeles, California.
They enjoy their time indoors and among their family-friend circle as Albert’s old age has hit the family.
Since both of them do not engage in social media, the former NBC Sports’ famed broadcaster’s current condition remains away from his fans and well-wishers.
Prior to Heather, Marv was married to Benita Oberlander, the mother of his several children.

NBA Hall of Famer Marv Albert Has Two Sons Kenny & Brian
Marv Albert has no children from his second marriage, but he and his first wife started his big family.
The former couple gave birth to four children, two sons, and two daughters, from the 1960s to the 1970s. Son Kenny is the oldest, followed by Brain, eldest daughter Denise and then Jackie.
Kenny followed in his father’s broadcasting footsteps and is continuing his successful career in 2022.
However, the same cannot be said about the other Albert children since the three planned for different things. Thus, not much about the three Albert children is available to the media and public.
Since Kenny stood close to his father on camera, he has become one of the well-known media people in the sports industry.
He is cited as the only sportscaster who currently does play-by-play for all four major professional sports leagues in the United States and Canada: NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL.
Kenny has also filled in the vacant spot of Mike Breen as a part-time play-by-play announcer for the Knicks since 2009. Breen is his father’s successor.
Aside from his career, he is devoted to his wife, Barbara Wolf, of two decades. The couple has two adult daughters, Amanda and Sydney, whose pictures he often uploaded on Instagram.
Likewise, the Albert family also includes Marv’s brothers, play-by-play broadcasters Al and Steve, making the family a broadcasting family.

Marv Albert Is Retired Today But Was Once Fired From His Broadcasting Job For Assault Case
As far as Marv Albert’s broadcasting career’s magnificent stories go around, the same cannot be the same for one incident.
A 42-year-old woman Vanessa Perhach had accused him of sexually assaulting her in Pentagon City’s hotel room after an argument in February 1997.
During the trial, another woman, Patricia Masden, told the jury of Albert’s misdemeanors against her on two occasions. The DNA results proved that the bite marks on those women’s bodies matched Albert.
He pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault and battery charges and was given a 12-month suspended sentence.
Irish Times reported that his assault case is often overlooked over his gigantic career achievements.
NBC quickly fired Marv after two decades of working with him before the 1997-98 season due to the trial matter. However, they rehired him again less than two years later.
Since then, he continued his broadcasting ventures primarily with NBC and later explored his other sports knowledge. His final NBC NFL broadcast was the Baltimore Ravens versus New York Giants game.
The New York Times confirmed that Albert permanently retired at 80 while the whole sports fandom thanked him for his service.
