Vanessa Quiroga is a freshman Texas Softball Player. Vanessa Quiroga, a two-sport athlete at Mary Carroll High School, was placed No. 142 in Extra Inning Softball’s Class of 2021 Player Rankings.
Vanessa is the Daughter of Lauro and Beatriz Quiroga. She Has one sibling, Kassandra. Her cousin Yulissa Hinojosa played softball in Southern Arkansas from 2017 to 2021, and another cousin, Estefi Hinojosa, is a Trinity University volleyball player.
Vanessa belonged to the National Honor Society (2020-21), the A-B Honor Roll, and the 2017 President’s Education Awards Program for Outstanding Academic Excellence (2017).
Vanessa was a part of the 2019 All-South Texas First Team and was named the 2019 District 30-5A Most Valuable Player.
Quiroga hit.436 as a junior, guiding her team to its second-straight district title (2018, 2019) with 17 extra-base hits, 26 RBIs, and a 1.472 OPS.
She batted.439 with 43 hits, eight doubles, and 23 RBIs as a sophomore, while also finishing 24-10 in the circle with a 2.20 ERA, 13 shutouts, and 202 strikeouts on her route to TXSWA 5A All-State Honorable Mention, District 30-5A Newcomer of the Year, and All-South Texas Second Team honours.
